Artist Statement

Lately, I’ve been drawn to the quiet, almost hidden beauty of nature—things like frogs resting on lilypads, the way light shifts across water, and the soft, earthy colors that surround us. I love working with these natural elements, capturing moments that feel both peaceful and full of life. There’s something about the richness of greens, browns, and blues that feels grounding, and I’m always looking for ways to bring those tones to life on the canvas.
 

Oil paint is the perfect medium for me because it lets me layer colors and textures to build depth. I’m fascinated by how each layer adds something new, whether it’s the softness of light or the subtlety of shadow. My goal is to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause and appreciate the details, like the way light touches the water or how a frog’s small movements seem to tell a story of their own.
 

I’m inspired by the stillness of nature—the quiet moments that often go unnoticed, but when you stop and really look, you realize how alive they are. I want my work to reflect that sense of connection, and to remind you of the simple beauty that’s always around us, waiting to be seen.
